Semiconductor Veteran joins Fingerprint Sensor Company
San Jose, California, - Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately-held biometric sensor company specializing in convenient, secure and reliable fingerprint authentication solutions, has appointed Rob Baxter as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Rob Baxter brings over 30 years of global semiconductor experience in Consumer, Telecom, and Automotive markets. He moves from SiRF Technology, where he was Senior Vice President. Prior to joining SiRF, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Centrality Communications, where he led the company through the acquisition by SiRF for $283M in August 2007.
Rob also served as Chief Executive Officer at Xanoptix / Xan3D Technologies, as Senior Vice President and Member of Office of the President at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, and as Vice President and General Manager of several Divisions in Motorola Semiconductor Product Sector (now known as Freescale) based in Europe, the United States and Asia during a 16-year career.
